Ready to write the GRE? Good for you! Now it’s time to register.
What do I do first?
There are 4 ways to register for the GRE test!
- Mail- the old fashion and safe way. Just send your payment with a scheduling form to the appropriate Regional Registration Centre.
- Fax- Similar to mail, just fax the form, and use a credit card to pay for your test. .
- Phone- Simply call the Regional Registration Centre, at least two business days before your prefered test date, and pay by credit card.
- Online- Log on to the ETS website and use their online registration system, it’s simple and comprehensible to use.
It’s important to indicate your appropriate Regional Registration Centre. You can do so online on the ETS website. For example, the following information is specific to the INDIA RRC, region 14, and you can mail or call them for more registration information.

What else should I know?
- Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Register early to get your preferred test date and to receive your test preparation material in time.
- The online registration system on the ETS website is easy to use. If you’re looking to find a test date and location, you should make sure to check it. If you want a safer way of registering, check the information online, but pay using another registration system.
- When registering, be sure that the spelling of your name exactly matches the name printed on the identification documents(s) you will present at the test center. If this information does not match, you will not be permitted to test and your test fee will be forfeited. There are no exceptions.
- You should take the test as soon as possible once you’re ready, to ensure that you get the test date and location that’s best for you, and to also make sure that your test scores can get to your graduate schools of choice in a timely fashion.
Registration is easy!
